YOUNG ABKHAZ ATHLETES BECAME PRIZE-WINNERS AT VII TAEKWONDO STAVROPOL OPEN, SOCHI OPEN

Abkhaz athletes became prize-winners at the VII Taekwondo Stavropol open in the "personal sparring" program. The competition was held on December 19-20, the president of Taekwondo Federation of the Republic of Abkhazia Otar Gogua said.

Four of six athletes representing Abkhazia, became prize-winners: Ramin Sharmatava (weight to 45 kg.) and Atashes Eksuzyan (over 50 kg.) took the third places; Timur Pkin (to 36 kg.) and Ashot Ashikyan (to 45 kg) the second places.

Four more athletes participated in the Taekwondo Sochi open held in the Dagomys sport centre on December 20.  

Ten year old Frants Grod took the second place, eight-year old Inal Chitanava and thirteen-year old Dmitry Vinokurov  took the third places.

The Krasnodar territory, the South of Russia and the Republic of Abkhazia teams participated in the competitions. Abkhazia was represented by the juniors who participated in such competitions for the first time, Otar Gogua said.
