Our compatriot Denis Tsargush won the first place in the weight category to 74 kg in the international free-style wrestling tournament of “Ivan Yarygin” Golden Grand-prix series in Krasnoyarsk, the Chairman of the State Committee on Youth and Sports Raphael Ampar told “Apsnypress”. According to him, a victory in this prestigious tournament is a pass to the European championship which will be held this March.
According to Russian Internet periodicals, the XXI international free-style wrestling tournament of “Ivan Yarygin” Golden Grand-prix series and Ivan Yarygin's Cup in absolute weight category has gathered a record number of athletes — more than 350 wrestlers from every corner of the globe. The competition was held in Ivan Yarygin’s Palace of Sports from January 29 till January 31.
Denis Tsargush was a member of the Russian national team that became the absolute leader of the XXI “Ivan Yarygin” tournament in the medals won.
For three days Russian national team wrestlers have won 4 gold medals (Magomedmurad Gadzhiev – 66 kg., Denis Tsargush – 74 kg., Abdusalam Gadisov – 84 kg. and Jury Belonovsky – 96 kg.), 5 silver and 11 bronze medals. Thus, the Russian national team won 20 medals.
Wrestlers from North Korea, Ukraine and Belarus with the only gold medal are on the second place. Wrestlers from Japan won one silver medal and three bronze ones on the tournament. Turkey, with one silver medal closes the group of four winners.
On September 23, 2009 Denis Tsargush became the world free-style wrestling champion in the weight category to 74 kg. in the World Championship held in Denmark. In the competition’s final duel Tsargush beat a Daghestani, a member of the Azerbaijani team C. Chamsulvaraev. |
